Hi, I’m Hannah! I’m a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist who believes nutrition care should make space for the whole human.
My approach is anti-diet, weight-inclusive, and rooted in the belief that all foods can have a place. I work with clients navigating eating disorders, disordered eating, body image concerns, and complicated relationships with food, helping them approach nutrition with more curiosity, compassion, and trust.

my journey
At 11 years old, I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, a moment that changed the course of my life and deeply impacted my family, too. Suddenly, food and nutrition became much more than daily necessities. They became central to how I navigated life and my overall well-being.
By the age of 14, I had already discovered my purpose: I wanted to become a dietitian.
My lifelong fascination with food evolved into a deeper curiosity about the powerful role nutrition plays in our well-being and a desire to better understand how food influenced my own health and daily life.
I watched family, friends, and members of my community cycle through fad diets and rigorous exercise programs in pursuit of “health.” In my adolescent years, I internalized those messages and began cycling through programs rooted in diet culture, unaware of the profound impact that weight-focused interventions could have on a developing mind and body.
I had all these beautiful, femme presenting folks in my life, but I couldn’t think of one that even liked themselves or something about their body.
I recognize how these experiences shaped my understanding of the ways diet culture normalizes disordered behaviors and ultimately strengthened my commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based nutrition care.
My Values
-

Gentle + Compassionate
I lead with gentleness and compassion. When you feel ready to become more curious about your relationship with food and your body, we will honor that process with patience, care, and compassion.
-

Direct + Honest
While I approach this work with gentleness and compassion, honesty and transparency are core values in my practice. I believe in having open communication with my clients–there are no surprises. If I have concerns or feel collaboration with other members of your team would be beneficial, I will communicate that with you directly.
-

Slow + Steady
Together, we’ll explore, challenge, and nourish your relationship with food, nutrition, and body image.
This work takes time, compassion, and intentional effort. There is no universal timeline for recovery because each person’s journey is unique.
Our sessions create space to explore what’s showing up between visits, including food experiences, eating behaviors, meal planning, skill-building, and the emotions that can arise as you navigate your relationship with food and your body.

When I’m not wearing my dietitian hat, you’ll find me…
-

Hanging with Butters
My cat’s full government name is Honey Butter Sharkey, which obviously felt important for you to know.
-

Cooking for the people I love
Some of my most cherished memories were made in my Grandma Sharkey’s kitchen, baking banana bread or making her famous stovetop macaroni and cheese on black-and-white checkerboard floors with Kenny G playing from the under-cabinet CD player.
-

Traveling with my partner
Discovering a new place through its food is always one of my favorite parts. Experiencing different cuisines gives me another way to connect with people, places, and cultures.
-

Singing loudly and occasionally questionably
Music has always been at the heart of the Sharkey family. My sisters and I became particularly well known for our family karaoke performances of Celine Dion followed by Sir Mix-a-Lot. A balanced repertoire, if you will.
-

Finding your celebrity doppelgänger
I have a weirdly specific talent for spotting a complete stranger and immediately knowing their celebrity lookalike. Will I remember the celebrity’s actual name? Probably not. Will I be able to tell you the character they played in a TV show 12 years ago? Absolutely.
What if there was another way?
Finding the right provider matters, especially when it comes to something as personal and complicated as your relationship with food and your body.
If you’re looking for care that is compassionate, honest, weight-inclusive, and centered around you as a whole human, I’d love to learn more about your story and see if working together feels like the right fit.
