FAQs: nutrition care & philosophy
-
My nutrition philosophy is rooted in a weight-inclusive, anti-diet approach that focuses on supporting your overall well-being and relationship with food and your body. I believe everyone deserves compassionate, respectful care that honors the whole person–their lived experiences, needs, values, and the many factors that influence their relationship with food.
-
An anti-diet approach challenges the belief that our worth and well-being are determined by body size. It recognizes the impact that restrictive dieting and diet culture can have on our relationship with food, body image, and overall quality of life. Rather than focusing on rules and restriction, we prioritize nourishment through consistent and adequate intake, variety and balance, and the inclusion of satisfaction and pleasure.
What IS an all-foods-fit approach?
An all-foods-fit approach does not tie morality to food–there are no “good” or “bad” foods. Instead of viewing eating through the lens of rules, restriction, or perfection, we will explore building a more flexible and compassionate relationship with food and body.
Different foods provide different nutrients and eating a certain food does not define your worth or well-being.
What IS NOT an all-foods-fit approach?:
An all-foods-fit approach does not mean every food is the right fit for every human. Food allergies, medical needs, cultural traditions, and religious practices are all important factors that need to be considered. This approach should be personalized to each client, honoring what supports their unique body, values, and relationship with food.

No! While diagnoses can be helpful in folks naming what they are experiencing, I prefer to listen to an individual’s lived experience.
If you are wanting a formal eating disorder diagnosis, we can provide psychiatry referrals upon request to be formally evaluated. Dietitians cannot diagnose clients with any type of condition.
If you are seeking out nutritional services not related to an eating disorder, we will individualize our approach for your needs and encourage you to reach out to your insurance company to understand your benefits.

Whether conducted virtually or in-person, each cooking experience is tailored to your individual needs from the comfort of your own home. Sessions are designed to build confidence using everyday ingredients, develop foundational cooking and baking skills, and increase familiarity and comfort in your own kitchen. To build lasting confidence and skills, multiple cooking sessions are encouraged to provide the time and opportunity to strengthen these skills, gain hands-on experience, and explore new recipes at a pace that works best for you.
